Yomi Omomuwasan, the Managing Director of Lekki Concession Company (LCC), says that the company does not know how much it makes in Lekki, Lagos State, from the two tollgates.
Omomuwasan said this on Thursday, February 18, 2021, when sharing ‘Hard Facts’ on a radio program on Nigeria Info FM.
When asked how much the organization generates on a monthly basis from the Lekki tollgate plazas, the MD said, “We don’t have a figure to that.”
The shutdown of the plazas after the suspected killing of protesting young people at the tollgate in October 2020 has cost the corporation over N2.5 billion, Omomuwasan said.
The LCC has previously maintained that the majority of the tolls’ profits was used by local and international lenders to repay debts accrued for the scheme.
